Firstly, I shoot in "Natural" on the camera, that way the embedded profile is fairly neutral. Now, though (for Pentax, at least) I tend to use the "Embedded" profile and make preset adjustments I've come up with over time. I used to use an Xrite Colorchecker to profile my cameras, and this is the way to go for colour accuracy. It's not that SilkyPix is right and Lightroom is wrong - merely that they're different, so you need to find settings in Lightroom that work for you.
Lightroom 5.7.1 how to#
I shoot only DNG, and Lightroom 6 allows me to use the "Embedded" profile (which is what was used by the camera).Īny RAW processor will make it's own default decisions on how to represent your RAW files. Profiles they build with a ColorChecker or smth like that they can share? As far as I'm aware, DNG still embeds the colour profile.

Was wondering if anyone compared those vs DNG embedded vs SilkyPix? Or maybe someone has HueLight color profiles makes camera specific profiles for Pentax bodies, about $15, so not too pricey. But I think it's still not very good at emulating what you'd get with SilkyPix correct? So I've switched to DNG from PEF few months ago, mainly because it embeds the color profile into the RAW.
